Traveling through Phoenix on Southwest. Looking for a decent place to grab a bite. I have been through here numerous times over the years and this was the first time I remember stopping here. It is near D4 and overall I would say it is very good food. I had the green chile pork burrito and it was excellent.
Pros:
- service was good and fast
- the food came quickly but did not seem pre made.
- decent selection of Mexican style food. Not overly spicy.
Cons:
- Like most all airports the beers are overpriced.
- not a great beer selection in the airport overall
I would eat here again. -

If you find yourself in this part of the airport with few options, you might grab a bite here.As with most airport restaurants expect food and service to be average.
Nobody was attending to the tables there was quite a rush and everyone seemed to be looking for servers.
We waited a good 10 minutes for the check and then some more
Don't even compare it to the other locations of Barrio.
~ Ensalada del Barrio $17
~ Barrio Bomba $14.25
~ Empanizado Del Mar $17
For the prices the service and food are average at best.
We come here for lack of options in terminal 4

Good place for tacos & drinks while you wait for your flights, expect a bit of a wait after being seated.
This is still airport food, lacked seasoning, even just a little salt would've made this better. I had the cochinito pibil tacos with fries. My dd had the chicken burrito, she said it was just shredded chicken wrapped in a tortilla with cheese melted on top, she said it was missing ingredients like rice, beans, guac, salsa.
We each had the Barrios Bomba with tequila, pineapple & orange juice. Pretty to look at and good to enjoy with breakfast.
It took a while to get the check, we had to ask another waiter for water. All in all it was good. -

As far as airport food goes the was a decent experience. My waitress attentiveness is what got this the 3rd star. I ordered table side guacamole, but it wasn't made at the table like the menu said. It was ok. The shrimp tacos I had literally had one shrimp in them. It was good, but a let down. Just ok.

I've had the Pozole Verde from here before which was so flavorful, although thier own twist on it, so decided to have it again. Unfortunately they dont serve for breakfast and have a very limited breakfast menu. I know! Who doesn't serve Pozole for breakfast?!
Anywho, I ended up ordering coffee and chilaquiles verde. Coffee was very bitter so I added all my creamer and still couldn't get rid of the bitterness. I just skipped it and drank water. Waiter did remove from my ticket and didnt charge me. Chiliquelies were interesting. Was more like 2 eggs on top of stew nachos on top of potatoes. Potatoes got soggy under the sauce of the stew. Pork green chili stew was flavorful but not spicey on top of tostada strips. Wait staff was ok. Not super friendly. Didnt refill my water or ask if I needed anything else. It was not busy.
Overall was ok but bit pricey. I think next time I'll opt for the quick counter serve places than this sit down restaurant. Unless they have the pozole.
